BTTRNG TRSH CNS, or "Battering Trash Cans" was originally written and recorded in a Glasgow flat back in 2005!

The track begins with a simple squaretooth waveform arpeggio emphasized by a noisy syncopated kick, before the recognisable noisy snare (a recording of an old dustbin lid) makes an appearance. The arpeggiated synthesizer envelope is gradually modulated with portamento flourishes, extended waveform release time and a spaced-out reverb effect.

The main rhythmical feel of the track incorporates an old-school garage vibe whilst pushing the noisy snare sound into a more consistent rhythm, permeating the entire track. A traditional house rhythm becomes more prevalent in the middle part of the piece, with sweeping pad sounds and analogue synthesizer sound effects, before the noisy garage vibe re-emerges.

Raw sounding, rough around the edges and pushed into the red throughout the recording. The track as a whole sounds as if it has been recorded inside a metal rubbish bin. The original multi-track recording was lost the immediately after recording, leaving only the demo master which you hear now.

It was the first of only two original TENDO tracks.
